Based in The Hague, the firm has its focus within the transportation and infrastructure sectors, where they offer a broad range of services, including financial advisory, M&A, financial restructuring, debt & equity capital advisory, asset warehousing and direct investments. Operating in a global environment with clients and investors based in Europe, Asia and The Americas, Zuyderzee continues to expand their services and the team.
With a hands-on team of currently eight professionals, Zuyderzee possesses deep sector knowledge and has a broad, diverse mix of investment, structuring, finance, advisory and asset management expertise. By scaling up the team as needed with the relevant experts depending on the nature of the transaction/project, the result is an all-round, high-level execution of the services they provide.
Position
As an (Senior) Associate within Zuyderzee you will primarily focus on financial advisory, where you will play an active and integral role in various transactions and assignments. As a member of the team, you will be involved in supporting clients in a wide range of strategic, sell-side, buy-side, capital raising and related situations. In your role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team and build broad international transaction experience. By preparing for and participating in origination meetings, strategic dialogues, tactical decisions and negotiations, you will gain much exposure to partners and clients.
Furthermore, you will amongst others:
- Liaise with industry partners and advisors, accountants, lawyers, due diligence and other (financial) advisors and stakeholders;
- Be responsible for the production of financial modelling and analysis including cash flow models, projections, valuations and supporting due diligence;
- Synthesize information after (market and industry) research and analysis into high quality client reports and recommendations;
- Coordinate transaction deliverables, information requests and maintaining transaction momentum and timelines;
- Manage the preparation of client presentations, teasers, information memoranda, management presentations and other transaction related documents;
- Contribute to business development activities by building and maintaining an external network with prospective clients and other market participants.
Profile

With your creative and proactive problem-solving skills as well as your entrepreneurial profile, you know how to find your way through the organization.
The ideal professional recognizes itself in the following:
- University master degree, preferably in (business) economics, finance or investments;
- Minimum 3-7 years of work experience within a transaction or corporate finance team, consultancy or private equity;
- Strong team player with an ability and aptitude to step in any function when necessary;
- A “can do” mentality with the ability to think and work independently, ask questions and foster a steep learning curve;
- Well organized with the capability to adhere to stringent timetables;
- Excellent quantitative proficiency in combination with strong presentations skills;
- Experience within an international environment is a pre;
- Fluency in English and preferably one other language.
