For our client, IKEA FOUNDATION, the philanthropic arm of INGKA Foundation, the owner of the IKEA Group of companies, we are looking for an INTERIM PROJECT CONTROLLER.

Position

The IKEA Foundation is a strategic grant giving philanthropy, funded by INGKA foundation, owner of the Ingka Group of Companies. The IKEA Foundation is independent from the retail business with a sole focus on creating brighter lives on a liveable planet through philanthropy and grantmaking. Together with over more than 140 partners that are extending each year and are located on the ground in their local communities, they are working on this mission every day through long-term thinking and support.

The programmes that they are funding are manged by knowledgeable, innovative and well-regarded organisations that are experts in their field. These organisations work in communities where they are needed the most and therefore do a lot of work in India, Africa, Asia and South America. The programs to which IKEA Foundation gives grants, fall into six thematic areas; Climate Action, Renewable Energy, Agricultural Livelihoods, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Special Initiatives & Emergency Response and Refugee Livelihoods.

Together with the team consisting out of 10 persons containing, a Head of Project Control, to which you will directly report and two Team Coordinators by whom you will be supervised, you will be able to contribute to constantly improve the grant-making experience at the IKEA Foundation.

 

Background

As an Interim Project Controller you will work closely together with one or more of the portfolio teams at the Foundation in order to create well established grants and manage them in a responsible way.

Activities and responsibilities of the Interim Project Control position include assessing the capacities of the perspective partners (due diligence), evaluating the financial proposals of different types of grant applications, monitoring the partner’s and the grant’s financial performances and controlling any related risks and when needed give advice for course-corrections. Besides which you also ensure that the approved grants are contracted and administrated in line with internal governance and procedures.
